Are you guys happy for the holidays…… well I AM! Because I am going to WA where I used to live to see all my old friends.
In Inquiry: We are doing our personal projects. We have had our last session of inquiry so now we have to do it at home if we didn’t finish. The bad thing is 6B wasn’t there and Angus is in 6B and Harry, Lukas and I don’t know how to use Adobe Premiere but we were still able to do the voice overs and we finished today.
In Maths: In project Maths We are still doing Create a Garden project. You start off with $10000 and then basically you go for your life and buy all the stuff you would like in your backyard.
In English: I have finished two poems. One was called “The wining hit” and it’s in a two piece combo, so here is the first one…
The winning hit
Worn grip in my palm,
I feel the sweat dripping down into my mouth,
Harsh wind on my face,
I hear the “THUD” of the ball pinging off of my racquet.
The other one is called Tennis Opponent perspective and here it is….
Tennis Opponent perspective
The ball squishes against the racquet strings,
My eyes blur as the ball pelts towards me,
The wind feels cool on my hot cheeks,
The taste of the salty sweat on my tongue.
In Inquiry: We are still doing Personal Projects and on Tuesday the goal that was set, your group should be finished doing the shotlist. Luckily my group has finished doing all the filming.
In Maths: In Maths groups instead of signing up we are doing problem solving. In each different class there is a different problem. The one in 6A is about where Tom ( not me )sits for an exam and how many people can sit the test at once.
In English: I’m about to finish 2 seeds. One is called “The Winning Hit” and it’s text type reflection on a Tennis game. The other one is called Tennis and it’s text type is a poem on tennis.
In Inquiry this week: We are starting this new project called Personal project and it’s basically another Iproject but it has to be useful to someone. My group is doing “How To Make A Film”. So far we are in the planning stage like making a shot list.
In English this week: I have published a piece called “Chocolate” and here it is……
Sweet and all sorts,
Crunching and snapping and popping
Rich different colours, making my mouth water,
It was delicious.
I am also doing a joined piece with Barnaby. We haven’t thought what to name it though.
In Maths this week: Our Problem solving books are due for the term HIP, HIP HOORAY!!! Sorry Ms Torney. But we got given really hard questions and I have finished them so I am really happy about that.
In Inquiry: We have finished doing our Zoo Conservation film also known as SOS (Save our Species). They were video files made in Corel or Premiere. Also are starting a new subject called Personal project and I’m in a group doing a ‘How to make a film’ with Harry’ S., Angus I. and Lukas A.
In Maths: In maths we are doing a new topic which is Area and Perimeter. I was in the clinic who were doing Area. We had to fill out this sheet so we got the unit of measure right. We are also doing Algebra. In it we have been doing the ladder problem.
In English: In English, I was in the middle of a seed called ‘Chocolate’ which I finished. I finished my first draft and then I had a mini conference with Mr Henderson and he said to change a few words and take out a few words and then all should be well with my next draft then I will publish.
Hi guys today I’m going to be doing a #Editing post.
- What editing techniques did you employ and why? We cut a bit of voices and some bits of videos out of YouTube videos then put it in our video.
- What editing software/app did you use? We used Corel to edit the Iproject in.
- Did you try something new? If so, what? No we didn’t.
- Did you learn anything new about editing? No we didn’t.
The difficulties we had were all the footage we were using to edit it deleted by itself some how and we went up to IT and they said we had to start again.
Hi guys today I will be doing a post about what I have been doing this week in Maths, English and Inquiry.
In Inquiry: We were giving people feedback for their SOS projects (Save Our Species) so then they could action that in the next session so you can submit it into the K-Drive. The feedback I received was basically just to turn down the music and turn up the voice-overs.
In Maths: In Maths this week we had to hand in our angles project which is marking angles down on a online picture and measuring them and I did 2 pictures so I’m pretty happy with what I did. There was also a post test that we did today that we did at the start of the term.
In English: I published 2 pieces that I did with Mr. Wade the original. The first one is called “Apple” here it is…..
Shiny and smooth,
It makes my mouth water,
The sweet and fleshy skin,
It was delicious.
The second piece is called “Ocean” here it is……
Cold, dark and deep,
Dark blue is the waters colour,
Waves slowly erode the cliffs surface,
The water tastes so salty and bitter on my tongue.
Hi guys I am doing a reading rant on Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban. The Author is J.K Rowling.
In the story Azkaban opens on the night before Harry’s thirteenth birthday, when he receives gifts by Owl Post from his friends at school. The next morning at breakfast, Harry sees on television that a man named Black is on the loose from prison. At this time, Aunt Marge comes to stay with the Dursleys, and she insults Harry’s parents numerous times. Harry accidentally causes her to inflate. Harry leaves the Dursley’s house and is picked up by the Knight Bus, but only after an alarming sighting of a large, black dog. The Knight Bus drops Harry off at Diagon Alley, where he is greeted by Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic. He rents a room and awaits the start of school. In Diagon Alley, Harry finishes his schoolwork, admires a Firebolt broomstick in the window of a shop, and after some time, finds his friends Ron and Hermione. At a pet shop, Hermione buys a cat named Crookshanks, who chases Scabbers, Ron’s aging pet rat. Ron is most displeased. The night before they all head off to Hogwarts, Harry overhears Ron’s parents discussing the fact that Sirius Black is after Harry. The type of book is fantasy because there are dragons and lots and lots of stuff that don’t exist. I didn’t like Snape because in my opinion he ruins everything. I recommend this for 11 to 13 year olds because of all the words, grammar and all the slang words. Out of ten I rate this book 8.5 because at the end it’s really tense.
Hi guys I will be writing an all post.
English: This week in English I did three poems in Mr. Wades they were called Ocean, Pen and Apple and that was the one everyone had to do. I put them into conference and hopefully I can publish all 3.
Maths: This week in maths group we are doing this project called the Angle Project it’s where you have to get a photo then draw the angles on it then measure the angles.
Inquiry: This week we are doing a project called the SOS (Save Our Species) it’s where you choose an endangered animal then you make a script then you make a Video that goes with it and with visitors.
Maths: In Maths this week we have done another pre test to see where we are at with Angles and using protractors. It was only a short test that went for approximately 10-15 minutes. Then in Math groups we were learning about angles and their names and what their measurements are.
English: In English I started a seed called Lamborghini. It is about a kid’s dream of being a street racer who drives a Lamborghini and always wins. There is a challenger who is also undefeated and drives the exact same car. The only difference is the colour.
Inquiry: In Inquiry we have participated in the SOS, (Save our species) program with the Melbourne Zoo. I chose to research the Tasmanian Devil and their near extinction. On Monday, we went to the zoo to take photos and do our piece to camera. The Tasmania Devil was only out for about 15 seconds, which is lucky being that they are nocturnal and it was a hot day.
