shot gun, dead cats and dead wombat microphones (all totally safe)

Today we did a clinic called shotguns and dead cats.  Image result for shotgun mic image

. The shotgun records noise that it points at. sort of like a shotgun it points and shots. But the shotgun mic really points and records. located at the top of the video camera there is an adaptor for the microphones. let’s look at the microphone. The foam looking bit is what records the sound. Where ever it points it will record. it can record things from up to ten meters away but the quality of the sound gets worse at any longer than that. now here is the dead cat (I never thought I would have to write those words in a blog post) it looks like a dead cat doesn’t it. The fur is there so the audio doesn’t pick up the wind. to connect the microphones, you need to screw it into the adaptor and plug that red wire in the hole that has the words MIC next to it. but remember to TURN ON THE MIC. Thanks for reading.

Great work! I really like the 2 images to explain about the ‘dead cat’.
