Designing a spinner

Today in maths we were focusing on chance and data.  for example there is a 5 % chance Melbourne victory will win the a-league.     We made three spinners. 1 even one win_20161107_15_00_14_pro. And 2 un-even ones.win_20161107_15_00_04_pro win_20161107_15_00_08_proWe had to make the even one as even as possible. And we spun them all 10 times each and we could see how even they were. My results:

My first un-even one landed on the red twice and the white eight times.

My even one landed on the red five times and the white 5 times. (Proved even)

My second un-even one landed on the red once and the white nine times.

Then we tested other people’s spinners. First I tested Georgie’s and she claimed that her spinner landed on the red twice and the white eight times. And she was………………… correct.

Then Oli. A claimed that his spinner landed on the red once and the white nine times. And I recorded that it landed one the red twice and the white eight times.

Then will. R claimed that his was even and landed on each colour five times. And I tested and I recorded that…………… It landed on each five times.

So that’s what we did in maths today. See you later people.
