This term we were given a list of ten animals that the zoo makes every year. They call it the ”SOS top 10”. We then had to choose one i chose the Little Australian penguin. Next we had to write a script for the film that we are going to make. Below is my script.

The Little Australian Penguin

Penguins, cute, small and great swimmers. The penguin is a 30cm bird and only weighs up to 1kg. These amazing little creatures need our help even though they are at a least concern status for being extinct. I don’t want this to become any worse because if it does we might not have these little guys.

The Little Australian penguin is a species not at a lot of risk….yet. If they are out in the wild by themselves, they are at a lot of risk from hooks, fishing line, nets and other fishing waste. Plastic waste such as bottles, cans and other materials can also be harmful. We need to change this.

The Little Australian penguins are the smallest penguins in the world, which can be found locally in Victoria and in the southern hemisphere. Yes, there are still a lot left but if we keep littering there won’t be.

These cute little birds are very small but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t care for them. The little Australian penguin is other wise known as a Fairy penguin.

Many people know what fairy penguins are because of the colony in Philip Island. This is a big tourist attraction. Every night at Philip island the penguins from the beach and go into their barrows to sleep.

We need to stop littering and start fixing. If we all pick up whatever rubbish we see we can start the chain reaction. We can also start to bring and eat nude food.

This will help because eventually our rubbish ends up in the ocean. If we don’t and we keep littering the little Australian penguin will become extinct within the next ten years. By doing this the penguins will be safe and won’t become extinct. Just think about it NO MORE PENGUINS!

While I am at the zoo I am going to film this bit.

Penguins, cute, small and great swimmers. The penguin is a 30cm bird and only weighs up to 1kg. These amazing little creatures need our help even though they are at a least concern status for being extinct. I don’t want this to become any worse because if it does we might not have these little guys.

I am also hopping to film in front of the penguins water enclosure. I think this would be cool because if the penguins are in the water swimming it would look cool.
