Rube Goldberg

This session we started to design. We decided that our simple task to complete is to ring a bell, we had to have at least 3 simple machines but we did 4. We made a list of material’s and who would bring them, We explain how it will work in the design. We are going to build it on a table so the bell will be off the table. I think that one of the main problems is going to get the marble to stay on track and the dominoes making the marble move.

 

 

This session we started building, Lachlan was away so Ella and I started building. we each brung all the things we needed. we had to switch the see saw and the ramp around because the ramp did not build enoph speed but the see saw did. But we asked our self how will we  get the marble to travel into the pulley a tube but we have to pack up.

 

 

 

This session we made the lever work and push the marble down a tube but we haven’t figured out how it will fall into the pulley. We made a stand for the tube to be the height of the Lego sculptor.

 

 

May 9

Simple Machines

5A Started off with building KNEX we decided to build a scale, first we got all the pieces and started building. There was one difficult part when you have to push the KNEX in place. The simple machine in a scale pendulum. A pendulum works by putting some wait on one side and it will tip to the heavier side.

5A then moved on to pullies.

We started with one wheel witch was pretty easy  but then it got harder with two wheels the most difficult  part was getting the string in it’s place. the one with 4 wheels was really hard it probably took up most of the lesson fore us. the simple machine in this is wheel.

Then 5A moved on to Lego my group got given a part to build.

We were aiming to build this. We made it but there were a few difficulties, like finding the pieces so our strategy was to just get a bunch of pieces and see if we have the right pieces, the simple machine in this was the leaver.

Robotics!

We started it off with putting someone in the middle of a circle and telling them what to do. First we started off with some thing simple like take a step forwards but we learnt the you need to be more specific we ended up with a lot of steps for it to take one step we ha to do lift left foot 30 cm move left foot forwards 30 cm put left foot down 30cm and then repeat it with the right foot.

We started building today I was in a group with 2 other people we toke in turns building it was a little confusing and in some cases we couldn’t find the right peace’s we managed get it done in the end though.

This session we started programing, at first we had a experiment to see if we could make it work. At the end of the  lesion we got given a task to make the robot move back and forth one meter with only using two blocks, we had to do three methods, seconds, rotations degrees. so far I have done seconds.

 

 

This lesson we got a new challenge the challenge was to make the robot go in a square.

 

 

 

 

 

In this session we started to learn about colour senses, we got given 3 challenges with it, one was to go up to a colour and back, one to go up to a colour and stop and the last one was to go all around all the colours.

To get to the colour sensor you need to go through some steps, it starts off as a timer so you need to click on it and then click on colour sensor

then compare and then colour.
