In drones, we got to fly around drones and take videos. My group only got to fly the drones in the first period the second and third we didn’t get a drone and in the fourth session, the drone kept going flat. We also used snap to code virtual drones.


In this project, we had to code the drone to move in a square, this is the code.

It was a little bit hard because the drone kept making rectangles. I added a block that checked that all the sides are the same.


To fly the drone we had to get an app on a phone the drones have cameras but they don’t record sound. On the app, there is an option to take photos and videos you can also do flips. When I was flying the drone we were taking a video and it suddenly did a flip. Then we recorded a video of us chasing the drone and the drone chasing us. I tried to make the drone do a flip but it would do it and then when we were filming us chasing the drone it randomly did a flip and it scared us all. We also started filming us dancing for no reason. We started to film us singing but then when we watch it back we realized the drone didn’t pick up the sound. Then we started to think of things we could do with no sound and we started to film us dancing.

Tello Edu

On Tello Edu, you code virtual drones to do simple tasks and get through a portal. Some of the tasks I did were, making it pick up things, make it shoot enemies and go up and down. This helped me because I had already coded drones so snap was easier.


In this project, we had to follow some instructions to make the drone fly around Geelong.


Hummingbird is a board that you connect wires to make different things happen. But they don’t just happen you have to code it. you can choose between many different types of code. There is python java scratch and snap. Snap is a block-based code like scratch. I did snap code. Before we did any projects we had to learn to code all the motors and lights. We did this in a small group, in my group was Eamon and Bella.

Among us

Among us is a game where there is an imposter and the other players are crewmates. The crewmates have to finish tasks and guess who the imposter is. The imposter has to kill all the crewmates. So for my project, I decided to do Among us. I made the characters and the knife out of cardboard. We used the servo to make the arm move.

it was hard to code the arm moving because the arm kept going down not up. We worked out it was because the arm was too heavy. Then when we came back on day 3 the arm was gone. So we had to make new props and this is how it turned out.

Plan Bee

Plan Bee is a project that Bella and I did. In this project, we had to ake a bee dance. We made the wings with yellow paper the legs and antenna out of pipe cleaners. we used the servo motor to make it dance.



Programmable Robot Ball: Sphero SPRK+ | Teach STEM with Sphero Sphero is a small round robot! To use a Sphero you have to charge it then link it up to an Ipad. There are 2 ways to use Sphero. You can drive it around using the drive tool or you can code it.


When you link your Sphero you can click the drive button. When you are in drive mode there are a few buttons to use. The first button is a joystick. This joystick is used for movement. It has a slider next to it you use the slider to adjust the speed. You also have a colour changer this is used to change the colour of the LED lights. Under the colour changer, the is a slider that slider is used to adjust the brightness of the LED lights.


The second mode for Sphero is coding. You can do Block based code or text code. with the block code, you drag and drop blocks to do things. I haven’t used text code yet. I used Block code to do my challenges.

Maze Challenge

For this Challenge, we made a maze on a carpet Square using tape. Then we drove the Sphero through the maze. After we drove the Sphero through the maze we had to code it so it would do the maze without help. This was challenging because you have to keep the Sphero is the lines. The maze we made was short so we coded it to do some dead ends.

There was another Challenge it was the Shape challenge we had to code the Sphero to drive in shapes. I did not do that challenge because I was playing with Dot, another robot.

Drawing Challenge

In this challenge, we had to use small coloured bean bags to map out an image. Then we had to program the Sphero to draw the image. When the Sphero gets to a bean bag it hast to change to the colour of that bean bag. To know if the Sphero is drawing the right thing we look at the live data. Live data is a thing on the app that draws a line where the Sphero has been. We did a house. First, we made the Sphero draw a square then we added a triangle to the top. Then we added a door.

Micro Bit!

Micro Bit is a device that allows you to make games, animation, and motion sensors. To make your micro bit work you have to code it. the code is block code like scratch. The Micro Bit has 2 buttons a and b. You code the Micro Bit to make the buttons do things.

flashing heart was the first project I did. In this project, we had to make a heart on the screen flash. This is what my code looks like.


We had to look at the tutorials on Micro Bit to learn how to code.

When I did the love meter project I thought that I could add some more to the code, but I didn’t know what to add.

Then I did the scanner project and I thought I could combine the 2 projects to make a scanner that scans for love. This is what the code looked like.

Own Choose

Now that I had learned how to code it was time I made my own project!

I wanted to make a game kind of like dodge ball. 2 balls get thrown at you and you have to dodge them. each time they are thrown they speed up. If you get hit you lose and if you doge them you get point. It was a little hard because I was so used to how you make sprites on scratch. I worked out to make a sprite you have to use variables to make sprites. I already knew how to make life and movement from the tutorials so I continued working. Here is what the code looks like.


Collect is one of the games I have made. in this game, you have to collect falling balls to get coins and you have a 1-minute timer. it was hard because it is the opposite of my other game.

Every Friday this term we have Lego Robotics, in lego robotics we program and boss around a lego robot that we called buddy.

in the move strait challenge, we have to make our robot go to a point and then go back using seconds, degrees, and rotations. here is a snip of our code.


Makey Makey

Makey Makey is a  programmed object that allows you to turn anything that conducts electricity in anything you want. eg: bananas into a piano. you use alligator clips to attach to any object then hold one and then you can program or use the Makey Makey website to turn your objects into bongos a piano and much more.



one of the projects I have done is bongos. in this project, I had to turn play-doh into bongos. I plugged the play-doh into the space key and the left arrow and then used the Makey Makey website to get bongos on the computer.



the other project I have done is the piano project. in this project, I used the Makey Makey website for a computer piano. then I connected the left, right, up, and down arrows space and click keys to some tin foil and had a working piano.


game controller

The game controller is a challenge where you have to make a two-player game controller. using the back of the Makey Makey, there and more options like w a s d f g and mouse controls. I used the arrow keys and w a s d to make a game controller I used play-doh so it would stick to the table. then my friend and I played a game on scratch. I made a two-player snake game for my friend and me to play.



the unstrument challenge is a challenge where you have to make an instrument that doesn’t sound like what it looks like eg:  a piano that sounds like a drum. I made four drums and when you play them it plays different strings on an electric guitar. I didn’t know if I should make the f an f sharp or a normal f so I made a randomizing system that will play a random note f sharp or f.


Tap Tap Tap is my free choice project. For this project we could do anything we wanted, the only rules were you must use the Maki Maki and scratch code. I made a game that when it tells you an object you have to touch that object. You have three lives and a 20-second timer. The game will randomly change the object so you have to be quick. I had a few bugs like when you tap the spoon it would automatically get you out. I solved that by adding lives in. The timer was ten seconds but that was to short so I made it 20 seconds.

rube goldberg machines

The complicated vacuum

The complicated vacuum is my Rube Goldberg machine. my machine went along the lines of this. (A) The boot nocks a car (B) the car rolls and nocks the dominoes  (C) dominoes fall nocking a ball (D) the ball rolls and nocks the rope (E) the rope lets go dropping a padlock on the vacuum (F) turning off the vacuum. There was a lot of trial and error. most of the time the car rolled off the plank and when the padlock dropped the first few times it missed the vacuum. I would say that this machine was a success








Welcome to my Blog. This is where I will post my work like Scratch Maths Art and other cool things. My favorite animal is a Panda I like the color yellow. My favorite sport is swimming. Come back to my blog every couple of days for more cool things.


In Art, we’ve Been making animals that are affected by the fire. I’m doing a Platypus, other people doing Koalas and other animals. After we choose our animal we had to draw the animal. We photocopied the drawing 2 times then cut out the body parts. Then we cut the same shapes out of cardboard. We found that they were too small so we made the pieces bigger then cut them out of cardboard. I’m up to painting the pieces.



In Maths we’ve been playing Addo, Addo is a game where you create a grid and then pick numbers. You pick to cards add up the numbers then if you have the number you cross it off. Once you get three in a row you say ADDO! Then you win.

I think I did this well with this because I found the best numbers. Like Nine is good because it has a lot of ways to make. 12, 10 and 15 are the same. 13, 14, 17, 6 and 8 pop up a lot.
