Here is my heptagon I extruded the lines and I got this!

This block divides 360 into however many sides your shape has and it adds up to the angle that you need and makes the shape

The code didn’t load into this but I will explain I put four heptagons next to each other and changed the colours each time you do not need to do the colours.

So this is my rotational symmetry

I made a cool pattern and stacked it on top of each other I did this by using the change absolute block

I have experimented with x and y axis I have not worked it out yet but I will continue next session

Starting Turtle Art

I have tried to do what I did on beetle blocks with turtle art. I have not worked it our yet though. I have tried to divide 360 by seven to make a heptagon like what I did on beetle blocks.

I made this heptagon with another inside

I did it twice but changed the pen size and colour!

Parts, Purposes and Complexities

Hi this is my project our first activity was Parts, People and Interactions

I have got to the circuit

I found out a lot of systems run this mouse and its hard to pull apart.

The car will be driving and another car will hit it the people in the car will scream and the car will have lights

We have a hummingbird now

We’re having trouble. The code is not working.

Its working I took out the forever block

We completed it and I had a great time with this project.

Mini Golf

Hello this is my mini golf project with Adam and Jake. We are going to use the hummingbird to program the course

We have planned for it to go down a ramp and then split off then after they merge again it will have 2 pipes a good and a bad we did have the idea for a big pipe that takes you to the start but we changed our minds.

Construction:

Here is where we got the gear motor to work what Adam tries to explain is it is where the ball will spin and it will go in a random direction it will go to either of the pipes, out of bounds or back on the track.

we have some cardboard and we are going to make a beach house where the sand is which is off the track

We got our vibration motor to work

Here is the code for it. we had our humming bird in the first port and we set it to 1000 to make sure it really vibrates.

We also got our Tri LED to work

The code for it. The first one it is in port one red is set to 100 so it will turn red the others are set to 0. The second one it has a wait before it then it is set to green the wait makes a flashing affect where it goes red green red green etc.

This is our ramp now we are trying to put it together.

Reflection

I have had a fantastic time on our mini golf project. It has been a great experiment and an amazing experience. I would 100% do it again I have had awesome people also helping with our project I have had a great time. The windmill was hard but we made it! I am so happy with how it turned out. a great project and a great time!!!

Hummingbird

Hello this is my post for Hummingbird.

 

The Dr Seuss Hummingbird Challenge

What type of creature might you create?

What variables might you consider?

 

  • Can your creature move? How? When? How much? How fast?
  • Does it make a sound? What sound? When? For how long?
  • What does it look like? Does it change colours? When?

 

My initial goal is to create Jight Wolb in a Light Bulb that uses hummingbird to make a great, fun and amazing experience!

 

Here are the parts, purposes and complexities of my design:

This is the first iteration of my creatures system:

The parts which were the most challenging was trying to code the LEDs and motors to work. This screencast wouldn’t work but basically I was saying that my vibration motor would work and then it wouldn’t. It was not consistent

 

I was able to get these working by making it so It just vibrates all the time instead of just when you touch it

 

 

The second iteration of my creature’s system is so I will change it so I will take the sensor out

Here’s a screen snip of my code. The code was challenging because again it was not consistent but it worked out well. I also changed it to tri coloured LED

 

I was able to get these working by getting help from a friend that had done it and also keeping the code on when it worked so I wouldn’t have to try again.

Reflection

I have had a great time doing this LEGO EV3 machine I cannot wait to hopefully do this again in the future. I may not of done the best project but at least i made something! I would do this again for sure.

What this is about

In this project I am going to make a interactive map of Australia. So when you press on a state it will say about that state. I am trying to teach people about the great country of Australia.

I have learned how to program a makey makey properly. I am now planning on using it some time in the future I have also learnt more about all the amazing capabilities of scratch and I WILL use scratch a lot more (not playing games I mean doing work) so yeah I have really enjoyed this experience. We have had our fair share of problems including realising the makey makey did not have enough cables to do all the states but we found a solution we just put multiple states on the one bit of code. I think we have well considering a lot of people might find this hard and yes it was hard but we had got the hang of it after only FIVE weeks! I think if we did this again we would be experts! I have had a great time on Makey Makey and scratch hopefully we can use these great programs again.
