Finally Complete!

Hey Guys!

I have finally completed my Passion Project with Samantha! I have been working on it all term and i have finished it at last! It has been good but there have also been some harder sides to it.

The project kind of turned out the way I intended because all the things we made were how I wanted it, same as the film, except we didn’t get ALL of the things I originally intended. We ended up doing about half as many things as I wanted because of the lack of time and material. Overall, it was great and I really like the way everything turned out.

I reckon that I have done a pretty good job at the organisation of how to get together all the weekends to get everything done. We have been pretty good at organisation and the making of the products. It was so fun!

Next time, I probably could of worked on making more of the items because I only made about three or four of each and I guess I could of made more. I also could of done more research before I started to make the products because half way through, I had to change my plans because of something that I hadn’t even thought about before then. If you want to know what it was, check my older posts.

I learned how to thin ahead more and how to actually make a dog toy! I also learned a heap of stuff along the way but I can’t recall it all now!

Next time, I probably would of improved on what I said I needed to improve on earlier!

Looks like this will be my last Passion Project post for the year! Bye!ūüėú

Feedback On My Passion Project

Image result for feedback

Hi Everyone,

I have finally completed my ¬†passion project and now, I need to know what other people think about it. The people ¬†who gave me feedback were Mikayla, my brother, and my dad. First, I actually can’t imply the feedback since I have already finalized the project’s film so I have only taken into account the feedback so that next ¬†time,I know what I need to work on.

I  am only going to mention some of the feedback that Mikayla gave because she gave us feedback more than once at different stages. Since it  is now finished, I will give you the newest comments.

Mikayla

She said  that next time, I could maybe take more footage of us making  the actual things like a time-lapse. She also said we could of narrowed down our ideas earlier because we had  to modify  our ideas along the way a lot.

Dad

My dad said the same sort off things except he also said that maybe to make it easier for us, we could chose  one of the items we made but also make a film about it and just add more detail. I thought that was a good idea and I will be taking  that into account next time I get to chose my homework like  this.

And  my  brother just agreed with what the others said.

Like I said earlier, I kind of can’t change my project now since it has already been ¬†completed so I am just taking this into account for next time.

Until next time, Bye Guys!

Production Of My Passion Project!

Image result for production

Hey guys!

I finished the production of my Passion Project but it wasn’t easy! Here is the WHOLE journey!

First, my partner Samantha came over to my house to begin creating the dog toys, cat toys, dog biscuits and collar tags. First, we went out and bought the little things we needed to use. This was craft glue, fabric squares, wool, sticks, clay and paint.

The first thing we decided to create was the clay figures to put in a fish bowl/tank. Once we had just started to mould the items, we thought of something that we hadn’t even noticed before then that was quite obvious. The paint and clay could poison the fish! We were just like, DUH? HOW HAD NO ONE EVER THOUGHT OF THIS! So, for that day, we were trying to find out another thing linked with animals using clay that we could do instead of the fish¬†bowl d√©cor! We decided on creating little dog collar tags painted rainbow and with the names written on them. The rest of the day was used to create a batch or two of dog biscuits and we found the instructions for a good recycled t-shirt dog toy that you can DIY. We tried to make them with some od clothes of mine but it was extremely hard to cut the strips we needed straight. That was all the time we had that time.

The next weekend, we make a netter batch of dog biscuits since the last was quite burned, this time we made them all by ourselves, we used the fabric squares to create strips, and made two different designs, one was just the braided straight toy, and the other was a circle braided toy. Basically, they are just knotted at the end, braided all the way down, and knotted again at the top. the circle one is the same but you tie the top and bottom ends together to make it a loop shape. they were quite easy to make. Then, we made some cat toys by getting the sticks, making some pompoms and attaching them to the end with a little bell for the cats, and then tying them to the end of the stick using craft glue and some sticky tape over the top to secure the pompoms to the end of the stick. Then, we made the dog collar tags in all shapes and sizes. we took some photos and videos of us making everything, the finished product, and some pics of my dog playing with the toys and eating the biscuits.

The last time, when we finished the project’s production stage, we painted and named the tags and put together a short film of all the footage we filmed and took photos of.

The whole process was pretty successful except for the minor issue at the beginning!

My favorite part was creating the cute name tags because it was so much fun to mold, shape and paint the little shapes.

Now, all we have to do is to edit the film and put it together properly and then we are finished!

Planning for Pokemon Go

untitled

Hi everyone,

I have just started the production stage of my Passion Project so I thought I would share with you my planning for this very important part in my Passion Project. The first part of planning for a film is the most crucial part in the whole process. It is a fact that on a scale, 65% of the time is planning or the preproduction stage, 25% is the production stage or filming and getting footage and the remaining is for editing, the post production stage.

My group has decided to use a Shotlist to prepare and organise all the shots, angles, dialogue and settings for each scene. In this, I have used quite a few different angles and shots to get across the message/storyline of Mikayla and I’s film. This is what a filled shot list looks like.

Capture

Some really common good shots are the over the shoulder shot, close ups, still, tracking and panning. An over the shoulder shot is really good if you want more than one hing in the shot like if you need someone to be in a shot but also need scenery or an object than this is a good shot to use because you can have the characters shoulder and head as well as the object or scenery in front of the person or thing.

Close ups are good is you need to show emotion on the persons face or if you need to show detail on an object. You can use them to widen the variety of shots in your film if the time I right and it fits with the rest if the film. A still shot is basically just were the camera is sitting on a tripod or just very still and it stays there and does not move the whole time.

If the camera is moving and kind of following a moving object or person then that is a tracking shot because the camera is tracking and following the thing that is moving. It is usually done with the characters back facing the camera but sometimes it is facing the front.

A pannign shot has the camera moving side to side slowly to show a certain thing or place. You can also have an upwards pan and a downwards pan. They are the same thing but in different directions.

I have used all of these shots except for panning at least once in my passion project. They make my films storyline very clear and it really helps using a Shotlist to plan time and make sure our film works and everything is good quality.

I will be doing my next post about how the Production/filming goes. I am sure there will be some problems along the way but you can read about that in my next post so for now, bye!

Term 3 Passion Projects!

capitalismo1

Hi Guys,

I am SO excited to start our new passion projects because last term I had heaps of fun and I was already looking forward to doing another one. This time I am partnering up with my friend Mikayla because last time when I did it by myself, it was good but I feel like I should do something completely different to last term.

We’ve have finally decided on making a comedy film about¬†a new, popular app called Pok√©mon Go! It is basically the normal Pok√©mon game (you¬†walk around and on a little map on the app, you¬†try to catch Pok√©mon that are hiding in the area)¬†¬†Except it uses the actual google maps and you catch the Pok√©mon right in front of you through the phone or device. Since it is super popular with lots of people, we thought that it would entertain everyone who watched it in year 6,¬†girls and boys. Our original idea was to write a picture book, I would write it and Mikayla would of Illustrated it. The only reason we changed it was because, when Mrs. Stafford was briefing us on the important parts of our projects, she went over and over again on how important it was to be making this for your audience, not for you. It got me thinking, would everyone think that a picture book was really good and kind of entertaining? I thought not. Then I remembered Pok√©mon Go! It was popular so I thought hey, everyone would find it entertaining and funny because it is such a big thing, mostly everyone would of played it at some point.

The whole point/message is just to entertain people by making a hilarious film about something lots of people love or hate. I think everyone will enjoy it because they will all at least know what it is and even if they don’t, it will still be funny and overall a good Project outcome.

I talked to Mikayla about it and she thought it was a great idea so we went with it!

The part I am most excited about is the Production Stage which will start next week. We have organized it together and are ready to start our Shot list.

My next post will be when I start and finish my Shot list and everything else that  goes into planning a great film. Until then, Bye!

Term 3 Goals

google_com__LeanGoal2

Hi Guys,

This Term there are a few reading goals I would like to achieve throughout the rest of the year. These include certain routines to help fit in a good amount of reading, what genres I would like to explore and how I am going about achieving them.

I thought that this term it would be good to use the same routine I have been using all the time. I read before I go to bed for about half an hour to an hour and in my spare time. I like to do this because it works time-wise for me and helps my imagination get working before I go to sleep. This term I am currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire which is in the fantasy genre. That is what I will be exploring this term because I hardly ever read fantasy novels and I think I will really them.

In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, there are heaps of interesting and cool words that I have hardly ever seen in books. These include:

Surreptitiously

He gathered a fistful of robe from his knee and tried to rub it clean it surreptitiously.

Exasperate

The arguement continued to exasperate her and she turned to leave without another remark.

Temperamental

I find it makes quite temperamental wands.

You can tell that Those lines are from Harry Potter because of the last sentence! I will be striving to achieve the goal of finishing the Harry Potter series by the end of the September holidays because I have 3 books after the one I am reading to go. I would recommend this series to basically anyone because it is such a great book, especially if you love a fantasy novel that you never want to put down!

I will be doing a Reading Rant about Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire soon so if you would like to see what it is about or want some inspiration for the next book to read, then I suggest you head over to my Reading Rant page and check out some of my latest Rants.

I hope this has been useful in teaching you one or more new words and that is has been interesting to read.untitled

Poetry

Hi everyone,

Poetry. It is an art that is used to communicate emotion and thought. Today I would like to share with you a poem that I created inspired by a book I am reading at the moment called War Nurse. War Nurse is about a youngish girl who when there was possibility of a war breaking out, she trained and signed up to become a VAD. A VAD is basically a nurse who works at a hospital that the injured soldiers who have come from war are transported to to be treated and looked after. My poem will be in the style of Verse. With this poem, the name tells you all you need to know about how it works. It is a shortish piece that consists of about 3 or 4 verses of writing conveying strong emotion or great description. Metaphors and similes are mostly what takes up the space of verses as poems are all usually filled with these sorts of writing techniques.

This is what I came up with. It is called Soldiers of War.

SOLDIERS OF WAR

Brother, son, father, husband,                                                                                                                                                                   Burned in the flames of revenge,                                                                                                                                                             Fear still frozen on his grey, lifeless face,                                                                                                                                               Like footprints in pure white snow.

Unable to turn back, ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† A man in Moss green felt, ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† Fedora atop his head, ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† Thinks of the easy days, ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† That lay. Soldiers of war,                                                                                                                                                                                             Knights marching bravely across the chess board,                                                                                                                                Nearing checkmate.

The point of no return.

Poppies crushed,                                                                                                                                                                                           Under their strong armour,                                                                                                                                                                         Innocent ruby gems,                                                                                                                                                                                     Amongst utter chaos.

I strongly recommend this book to anyone who likes a great, interesting read or who likes historical fiction books because this book is basically just that. It gives great description which is why I got inspired by this book to create that poem you just read.  You can find it at the library in, like i said before, the historical fiction section or the section on war.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my post and I encourage you to read watch out for any of my new posts on my Passion Project because I have nearly finished it, but for now, Bye!

Planning for Passion Project

Hello Bloggers,

I’m past the ispdeas stage and planning for my Passion project! I have got my idea and I know what I am going to work towards. Now I am planning out in my head when I am going to make the big painting, when I am going to be blogging and estimating when I should we ready to produce. So far I am using my own chart to keep myself on track and so I know what I am doing and when I am doing it.

My plan is that this week, I will start the production stage and get the big painting on the way as well as putting the paper on the pin board AND do another blog post to keep you updated. In week 7 I will finish the big painting and get some feedback on what to fix and then in week 8 – 9 I will just generally finish the whole thing.

I think with the this plan, I will DEFINATELY get it finished by week 9 if I follow it right.

Look out for my next post about the production stage of my passion project!

Passion Project Ideas

Hi Bloggers,

In week 2 of this term, we have started on a new project called a Passion Project. It is part of our home learning and as the name suggests, it is about one of our passions. Before we began, each person had to think of their own personal passion, something they felt a connection with or is a big part of their life. I had a few topics to choose from but one stuck out at me. Water colour. I have Water colour art in my blood. My Nan paint, my uncle paints, and my aunty from the other side paints. I just love picking up a brush and doing a painting so I decided to do Water colour as my passion project. It was hard to choose because I do love a lot of others things I am Passionate about but this one is really close to me.

At first I was going to do a film on how to do water colour and to give tips and things like that. I changed my mind because everyone else were doing films and I didn’t really feel like a film would work for painting so I then chose to do a display of my work instead of an instructional film. I thought if this because I have a Pin board in my room which I don’t really use that much so I thought it would be a good idea to put white A4 paper on top of it to give it a cleaner, newer look and then pin my painting on it with anatations about them on the white paper next to it. So far I have 5 small A4 sized paintings and I am going to do one, big one on the back which will be like the focus. I am going well with this so far and think I will get it finished by week 9.

If you have a Passion, why don’t you create a project with it. It is fun, educational and you get to explore deeper into what you connect with.
