Last Session of Robot Dance

Today was our last session of design.It was a dress release. We went on like 4th we did not have a costume for the robot but we made one after the whole thing. We also made our costumes on the day we had already prepead groups of steammes that were stapled together.Then we stapled them to the top.We put them around the collar it looked weird but it was fine we also put one in our hair. Our preforms was really good but we did not have Milly there.

Robot Dance

Today in design we made our costumes. So for our costumes,we are wearing a black long sleeved t-shirt and a black skirt with blue,green,white and purple stremes on our arms and the skirt. so when we move it will ,look like seaweed. Lulu and I cut up like 100 seaweed bits.In an hour. We had to use napkins and cut them up. It was hard but we still got it done we have to stick them all on tomorrow in time I think we will get it done in time.


Robot Dance


In design today we had or second last session of robot dance.We have got everything done but one thing and that is the costume. We are going to wear black and white skirts but I do not have on i do not even have a plan black or white skirt and we were also going to put light and dark blues and green streamers but we do not have them ether, so Jas I think is getting the streamer so we are going to work it out tomorrow. So we mite end up using paper.

Year 8 Create

Yesterday our class went to see the year 8 create projects. First I went and saw my friend geogies nipper board it was so cool I loved the design on it.  I liked Jess and Edwina’s project  because I  like to bake and make creations as well. They made white chocolate covered  strawberry’s, cupcakes, cookies and the big cake in the middle is called strawberry velvet.They showed me some pictures of other things that they baked they said that they had lots of fun making all of the things in the kitchen . I didn’t  get much time to ask them some questions because there was so many people there asking lots of different questions.


Sensors snd screen display

This week in design we have learning about sensors and screen display. Screen display on you EV3 you have a big screen with nothing on when you play your program, so you can make your robot have some personality and a face so here is my program for the screen display.


This is my program for screen display the first brick is to make eyes. On the top there is a little white rectangle, that is to make a picture or a word come up. You can also put a picture from your files. You can click Lego files in that file there is a whole section for eyes if you click on that you will get a list on expressions on it as you can see I choose to use the black eye. The next Butten on the brick is the one on the far left this icon is used for choosing your eye or you word or your image. The last two icons are your x and y vales these are used to selected the positon for your image, word or eye. The next brick is just to make it go forward up the top it has the positions of what the motes are plugged into. The next icon is what way you’re going as you can see I am going forward. Icon three is what speed you are on I am on speed 50 you can go all the way up to 100.The next icon is showing how you are measuring it I have seconds this goes for 5 you can choose from degrees that us just degrees and there is also rotations the rotations mean how many times the wheel goes around.

The Touch Senser

This is my program for the touch sensor The first brick is to my robot go forward just forever. You can make you robot go forever or stop completly.My program is go forward forever at speed 100.(it is really hard to see) Oh yeah the brick is green so it is for the motor or movment.This next brick is for the touch sensor this brick is for when it hits something it will…and that is the next brick it is not that much but it is a very impotend.the next brick is stop and so it will just stop not much to say about that, the next brick is so after it stops it will reverse so it will turn 365 degrees and there should be one more brick and that would be go forward so it is like a mini cores. So if you start from the start the robot will go forward and then when it hits something it will stop and then it will reverse.

The ultrasonic sensor


This is my program for the ultrasonic sensor. The first brick is for just going forward forever the same as always and it is also on speed 100. The next brick is the ultrasonic sensor one. This brick is to use the ultra-sensor. The ultra-sensor is a type of sensor this is used to sensor this that are a serten distance away let’s say my program had 5 centimeters away it would only sense things that are 5 centimeters away like if you out your foot in frount of the robot it would do the next thing on your program. So back to the 3rd brick it is the reves brick. It si on 1 rotating and on speed 56.I have a loop around it can repete.This is a good sensor for a maze or a cores. They are all f the sensors and things I have learnt in the last 2 weeks.


Design Walk

In design today we did a design walk.A design walk is a walk were we have to find objects that our man made.Then we have to wright what came before it and how can we make it better and wha we think it is going to be in the furture.

This is a white board rubber.The white board was invented in the 1950sThe first version has the white board invented by Martin Heit. I do not know when the rubber for the white board was invented.I think it would be close to when the whiteboard was invented.I think that in the furture the white board rubbere replaced with a butten wich when you press it the white board will clear.That is what I think the white board rubber with be.


This is a door handle.Before knobs, doors were opened and closed through latches like this. It wasn’t until 1878 that inventor Osbourn Dorsey descoved the doorknob. I think that the door handle is going to be replaced by the sensing door it willk sense you and then it will open the door for you and then I think there will be doors that will sill sense you but it will go up and down rather than left or right.That is what I think is going to happen to the door handle.


This is the hand dryer. Befor the hand dryer there was the paper towl.(The paper towl is still around).George Clemens, a talented inventor , developed the first electric hand dryer in 1948. I think that the hand dryer will be replaced with a tap.First you need  put yuor hands under the tap after about 30 seconds the dryer turns on.That is what i think the hand dryer will turn out to be in the furture.

Building and Testing

In the last sestion of design we started testing our plan but we could not get the bleander to sart so we tried putting paper under the butten so the pipe could rest on it but that did not work so we did the same thing but with cardboard but that also did not work. So we thought the we could just change the ending (this was in the last 10 mins of the seation) but we could not think of anthing but then we thought we could get the marble to drop in a cup so we set up our machine and put the cup on the grouned and it worked!!



In k’nex this week we had to make a simple machine. I was with Jasmine and Izzy we made a fan. How the fan works is there is a handle and the back of the fan the handle is conected by a red axel on the red axle is a coge above the coge is the same thing the red axels are conected to the big weel at the frount and that is how are k’nex fanb works. We added more axles at the bottem for more support. We have made a movie maker about our fan.
