Passion Project #Reflect !

As you know my passion project for term 4 is taking photos. I took all of my photos in the morning. I took them at Torquay front beach, cosy corner and fishos. I got some of my favourites at Torquay front beach it had a really nice sunset I used my camera I don’t know hat it is called but I have a really big lenses on it. I put all of my photos into premier were I edited a film with most of my photos in it there were a lot of photos to chose from but the ones I put in the film were the ones I thought were the best I enjoyed the last passion project and I am happy with how it all turned out.

up the top is one of my favourite photos I took!

so far on my passion project term 4 I have been down to the beach 2 times at sunrise and got s lot of photos but I only really like 4 of  them. I don’t think I said this in my first post but I will not be editing any of these photos because my project is just about taking photos not editing any. I am hoping to get a lot more with a total of 15 or over I am super exited to get all of my photos done. I am pouting all the photos on a slide show and also in a folder. I am very exited to finish.

The Tasmania Devil is the largest living carnivorous marsupial they are so unique in so many ways, but these animals are endanger one of their the main reasons why they are engaged is DFTD. DFTD means devil facial tumour disease. This disease was first found in 1996. Since then it has spread of across 60% of Tasmania that leaves only 40% without this disease. DFTD causes tumour around the mouth, face and neck. The disease develops very fast. When a Tasmania devil contracts this tumour these poor animals will die within six months. During those 6 months, they will find it very hard to eat which will cause starvation and body breakdown. The cancer cells from DFTD are very contagious it is spread by biting during feeding or mating the devils everyday routine is biting and playing this is why it spreads so fast. In the wild, they are only found in Tasmanian. Hillsville statuary are part of the mainland captive breeding population program, and have breed 101 devils in the last 5 years. The aim of this program is to have a disease free population on the mainland. You can help fight extinction by adopting a devil for ten dollars a month, which help support your Tasmania devil and care for your animal every day. If you do not want to adopt you, can simply spread the word or make a donation. Your donation will go to fighting extinction at the zoo and helping finding a cure. With you help the Tasmanian devil will fight extinction.

This is my PTC

Building views !

The last few week we have been working on building views. First we looked at the fount and side view of the buildings we made on a 4 by 4 grid. To make theses buildings you have a 4 by 4 grid with numbers in them her is a photo of the work sheet. The bigger grid is were you put the blocks on, and the little grids at the bottom with the numbers are what you follow to make the building. then you draw fount and side view. to make sure we can draw the right view we crouch down and look at the front and on the side.

Our next step was to make the buildings with just the side and front view to guide us. There were 4 buildings we had to make. once we made the building and it had to look the same as the picture front and side. Then we had to make sure we used only 15 block if we used more then we had to take them out but if we did not have 15 and we needed more we had to make sure we added them without changing the view or the look.. then we had take out as many blocks as we could to make the minimum for the fist building it go 6 for my minimum for the second building I got 11 3rd 7 and finally 4th I got 11 again. Then we had to do max this I found harder that than the min because you had to add as many as you can  without changing the view and the side and fount this is hard because you want to put a block here but it dose not work for the side but it dose for the front. the fist building for the max I got 20 2nd I got 21 3rd I got 15 and the last one I had to change it so I don’t have an answer for the last one.

The last thing we did was building views on maths 300. I found this super challenging but got the hang of it in the end. to start you can chose what size grid you want there is 3 by 3, 4 by 4 and 5 by 5. I started with the 3 by 3 grid. what you had to do was place the right number ( or right block size) in the square you got front, back, left and right view to finger out were to put the numbers. you can check it you have put the right numbers in by pressing check. you can also click the compare button and it will show you want it is meant to look like and what you have done. There is also a  x-ray button we did not use that because it is just cheating.

I really enjoyed this unit and I leant a lot.

Passion project #description Term 4!

For my Passion project term 4 I am going to be doing photography. I love taking photos and I have my own camera. I am going to be taking of Torquay the beaches. Like Torquay beach Jan Juc fishos, cosy corner and bells beach. I will be taking them at sunset and sunrise and in the middle. I am hoping to get at lot so I can pick and chose. I am going to be making a movie with all of the pictures. I will be making the movie on premiere. I mite put the photos into an album but I have not decided yet. I am so exited to get started taking photos.

My project did not turn out how I wanted it to. In a way it is good but it is also bad because I did not do fondant on my cake like I said I was going to. We made the cake first then did the fondant the next day. we used half bag of marshmallows and made it we had to be quick so we did not notice that we needed a lot more marshmallow we finished all the steps and it looked like crumb we then thought lets add water but we went back and looked at the recipe and saw that e needed double marshmallows then we used so we did not have any more marshmallows so we just made lemon icing.

for the editing I did not have to much trouble. The pictures I took zoomed in when I put them on premier so you could not see what it look like from the outside. some of my audio was really quiet but it was really fun to make the cake.

For my passion project I am making a cake the cake up the top is what I hope my cake will look like when I am done. I am half way thought writing my shot list I am trying to do a lot more shots and different editing techniques for this film so I can not just improve on the cake making skills but also my editing and filming skills. I am going to try and make the fondant soon before I film the video so I can learn some tricks and see if I can really do it. My mum is going to get in touch with her friend from a cake shop in south Melbourne I forgot what it was called. We don’t know if he has time to help me make my cake. It is fine if he dose say no because I can just make it at home. If he dose say yes then I mite change what the cake looks like because he is a chef so he will teach me more. So it is hard for me to right a scripted now because we have not heard back from the chef.

When I found out we were doing passion projects in term 3 I immediately new that I wanted to make a cake. I chose do make a cake because I have always wanted to learn how to make fondant to put on my cake.

I have never made fondant before so this will hopefully challenge me. I am not just making fondant I am also making a 5 or 6 rainbow layered cake to put my fondant of top of . I have made a rainbow layered cake before but never 5 or 6 layers so this will be something new.

I am going to make a vanilla cake batter and I then will colour them my 5 or 6 colours. For my fondant I have decided to make a marshmallow fondant I have a recipe for it at my house.

I am going to film in my kitchen and I will need a tripod and a camera. I also want to film me making the cake from a lot of different angles so that is why I will be needing a tripod.

I am so exited to make my cake and see if it tastes and looks as good as I hope. I am also going to be away for the last two days of term 3 so I am hoping to get it done before I go away.

For my OTTT project I have decided to do the history of rip curl. I decide to chose rip curl because of its amazing history and how successful it has become.

Rip curl is one of the largest board and wetsuit brands in Australia, Europe and south America. When rip curl first started it was just sold boards. However in 1969 Alan green (a local surfer and he also spends a lot of time at wetsuit drive company.) came across rip curl from then on he help make wetsuits the first sewing machine that they used when Alan green came was the pffaf 138 zig zag. I wonder what that sewing machine look like.

The story that I chose was how rip curl started. I chose this story because rip curl such a big company and  I wanted to know how it started. In march 1969 to surfing friends Doug Warbrick and Brian singer, saw each other on gilbert street in Torquay. Claw had just finished a summer of shaping boards and Brian was about to go back teaching as a since teacher.

as they keep talking about how amazing the waves were this summer at bells beach they strait away thought that they needed a way to keep surfing bells beach but how.

Claw then had a thought, but little did he know that this idea that 2 friends had come up. Claw then said to Brian do you want to start making surfboards together. Brian then thought about what claw had just said to him this would mean I could surf so much more and then right there and then brain said yes. A few days later Brian quit his job as a teacher.

In April 1969 the first rip curl boards were made. Claw was doing 4 boards a week in there garage and brain was sanding a making fins.

I would really like to make a film on how rip curl started.

Passion Project – Editing

I have finished my filming so I am up to editing. I had a lot of trouble getting the footage for the camera to my laptop but I got it in the end. I thought I forgot how to put the text on the screen so I spent like an 1 hour trying to find a way to put the text on screen I did work it out then I forgot how to make it colourful again I did get it in the end. My film is not that long and I did not want it to be to long it is all just me passing shooting and playing netball in fast motion. I have music from ben sound. The only thing that I have to do now Is the credits and I mite add more but I think it is good. I will also put bensound in my credits and all the people that helped me film.
