|The Dr Seuss Hummingbird Challenge
What type of creature might you create?
What variables might you consider?
• Can your creature move? How? When? How much? How fast?
• Does it make a sound? What sound? When? For how long?
• What does it look like? Does it change colours? When?
My initial goal is to…….
Make a creature that has a spinning tail and glowing eyes. We will use sensors and gears which are a sound sensor, tri colour led lights and a gear motor.
Here are the parts, purposes and complexities of my design:

The parts which were the most challenging were getting everything to work at the same time. With our Gear Motor we wanted it to turn only when we used the sound sensor.
I was able to get these working by instead of trying to get them to work all at the same time I worked on small parts and then joined them back together after everything was coded properly.
The second iteration of my creature’s system is to….
Add another LED and make it red for the bump on my creatures head.

The parts which were the most challenging were when Eliza and I tried adding the LED light the circuit crashed so we had to remove it for it to work again.
We will still try another way to get the LED working properly, but for know it will be not apart of the circuit.
I was able to get these working by breaking the code down in to parts that were easy to fix individually.
This is a short film of my learning journey throughout this project:
