Passion Projects Term 4

This Term ill be tending to make a squishy, a a squishy is a Barwon Heads breakfast burger with egg, bacon, avocado, a special sauce called squishy sauce and the roll. I will be filming how to make one for the first time, i will also be getting some friends from Barwon heads to try it and filming that. Ill be looking forward to make it and see if tastes the same.DIY Squishy Pack | Starfish Bakery Cafe

Passion project reflection

Did you achieve what you originally set out to do? i made what i originally wanted to make i planed it all out and that’s what i made. What successes or challenges did you experience toward the end of your project?  i’m glad i need exactly what i wanted to make but it did take me awhile for the paint to dry and make sure the copper was the right size. How did you overcome the challenges? i just kept trying to figure it out and never gave u. How can you extend your learning if you were to continue with this project?  I would’ve have made another one and tried different things colors, copper etc.

This is how my project turned out!

Passion projects

This is my very first passion project and i’m very exited to show it too you!

What do you intend to create? I’m making a wooden jewelry holder.  I want to create a jewelry holder because it will be handy for my jewelry and I love to make stuff for my room.

What technology’s are you planning to use/learn about? I am planning on using the internet to help me do some research. I will use you tube for videos on how to make a jewelry holder, I will also look at instagram for examples of design to inspire me. I will have to ask my older brother to help me with learning how to cut timber with a saw, how to use the drill and clamps to hold it together when the glue is setting.

Who is your project targeted at? Me, depending how much i’m enjoying it I might make a little business out of it, then i would target teenage girls.

What are you looking forward too? I’m looking forward to creating a really cool design and showing it to the world.

What have you achieved so far?

This weekend i have gone around looking for the right stuff i needed, and thankfully got everything.

What type of learning have you done to upskill yourself?

i learnt the it was going to be pretty tricky making this jewelry holder because you have to do lots of handy man work, and i learnt how to cut copper/meddle.

What successes or challenges have you experienced so far? What is the next step for you

i found finding copper and copper T’s is pretty hard because you have to make sure the T’s are the perfect size and i had to go to a few places to find the copper. The success i have amde is that i now know how how to drill in the copper into the wood and how to cut copper too , even though i haven’t made it yet.

Here’s the supplies,

1/2 meter copper pole                                                                                                                                                                                               Two copper T’s                                                                                                                                                                                                             white paint (to paint the wood block)                                                                                                                                                             paint brush                                                                                                                                                                                                                     wood block                                                                                                                                                                                                                     copper glue                                                                                                                                                                                                                     screw driver.

beetle blocks

This time we are doing beetle blocks its like scratch and  snap but its 3d!!! and its more Tricky.

we have started to do turtle art now we are making repeat.

1                                                                          stacks on

This is the stacks on it was a bit tricky.

This is the coding for stacks on was a bit tricky because i need another repeat block and then I had to change were the ‘start extruding’ over to lines because it was on ‘x’. and then I also had to get a position’ block and change it over to z.

2                                                                       polygon

This the polygon code and a screen cast.

This is the polygon it has 12 sides.

This is the code for polygon I had to change ‘move’ from 8 to 12.

  3        Rhumbas

This is a rumbas that I was just experiment so I knew what to do on turtle art.

    4      Cross

This is the cross one it very tricky it took a lot of try’s to get the fat then the skinny and then I turn it into a cross.

5    Repeat

so this is my repeat one it was just hexagon then I wanted to add more so added a circle.

This is the same but I added more!!!

Parts purpose and complexities

This time we are doing ‘parts purpose and complexities’ so we will take apart our object and we make it into another object so it could be a cell phone or a animal anything really.

my object is a torch I’m going to make into a animal I’m not sure what animal yet.

we had to right what parts there are and what people there are in the school and what interactions there are in the school. its called the ‘school system’

then we had to draw your object so you hade to name everything on your object.

This is my plan for the project its going to be a pig and his nose is going to light up.

now its time to start making the pig and I will be using humming bird

this is the start of the coding

Sam who dances on the pan!

The Dr Seuss Hummingbird Challenge

What type of creature might you create?

What variables might you consider?

•        Can your creature move? How? When? How much? How fast?

•        Does it make a sound? What sound? When? For how long?

•        What does it look like? Does it change colours? When?

My initial goal is to…….

My goal is to figer out how to  light sensor and code.

Here are the parts, purposes and complexities of my design:

[insert scan from design book]

This is the first iteration of my creature’s system:

[insert video explanation]

[insert screencast of most challenging programming sequence]

The parts which were the most challenging were…..

The coding because we couldn’t work out how to do it.

I was able to get these working by

The second iteration of my creature’s system is to…..

I couldn’t work out how to get the gear moter to work so I checked my code and it turned out that we did the wrong code I had to change it complaly. so that was a bit annoying

Here are the parts, purposes and complexities of the additions to my design:

[insert scan from design book]

This is the second iteration of my creature’s system:

[insert video explanation]

[insert screencast of most challenging programming sequence]

The parts which were the most challenging were…….

were when we had to change the whole code.

This is a short film of my learning journey throughout this project:

Mini golf

This Millie, Stella and I project we decided to do Mini golf because we all like playing it. The start has gone smoothly so far but I’m shore it will get quite hard. this is the start of our coding. my goal is to coraprate and work together and to focused and not get distracted and make every second count. next we are doing is to fix our wing                                                                                                           meal and then we will finish the coding.

This the start of our coding for the wing meal  we had to change a bit of the coding because it was going to fast so we are working on how to slow it down.

What we will need

1 cardboard

2 grass

3 glue

4 lego\eve3

5 pipe

6 tape

7 small boxes

8 train trucks

9 hot glue

10 paper

11 Lego blocks

12 golf ball

13 golf stick

we were going to glue a clown on to the pipe but we couldn’t get the clown bigger for the pipe.

We are gluing paper around the pipe so its                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    more carnival look

This is the wing meal finished. it was challenging because it wasn’t working because we couldn’t get the right time but now we did

This is my design in my book. We are getting rid of the ramp because we realised it would be hard to get it up there on a small peace of grass so we replace it with 4 boxes and trains we go around on the boxes and the ball will need to dodge the boxes.

These videos explain what we are doing but the sticky tape didn’t quit work so we are hot gluing it.

In the second video we are going to glue the pipe down we have decided to stick little shops like ‘hit the bottle’ on the side.

This is the grass and we cut the hole so the ball can get in there.

This is the wing meal going to fast.

The wing meal is finely finished we got it a the wright time and now it wont be impossible to try and hit the ball throw

this is the coding for the wing meal  and its moving at the perfect past

we have started to put bowls in the end of the mini golf and we are going to put cones on the bowls so it can be ice cream  and we are going to build a ramp and its going to be moving we put the balls there because we needed more obstacles

this is our golf we have put candy floss and popcorn and put cones on to the bowls now we are going to stick on the ramp.

this the fishing golf course we might put something in the middle. We got foam balls and wrapped it in paper and got the cones from the shops we put the popcorn and cotton candy there because its carnival like and we needed more obstacles. we put the games there because carnivas have games.

this the clown moving and we decided to do a clown not a ramp because we thought might be a bit hard trying to hit the ball onto the ramp

this is the candy floss Stella made the box Millie  made the candy floss Millie got cotton and pink and blue paper and water ad left it over night

this is the popcorn I made the box and Stella made the paper se just scrunched up some yellow paper

this is the finished project  e did not have time to put something in the middle but were still very  happy with it we have moved the cones more to the wingmeal so you cant get a hole in one. so the ball will go throw the pipe and then throw the wing meal and into the clown. I have lernt how to work with micro bit.

robotic coannbot

Lilli , Stella and I are nearly finished all we have to do is code so ….. I think that’s going to be tricky because I’m a terrible coder so thts gonna be fun.

any whey here’s some photos of the finished robot.

me and Bobbi have been working on this project for awhile and weave had some goods and some bad days but we turned the bad days into good  right now weave had some trouble trying to get in some pins thorw cardboard and so we thought of a nother idea to right on the card bored
