# DC Cartoon

Today we looked at Digital Citizenship Cartoons, we got to chose between around about 3 cartoons to pick.

I chose this image because i found it funny because…

-They are on a date an the boy is on their phone

-The boy isn’t making eye contact

-I think what the girl is saying is funny because you are supposed to look at each other when you are on a date but the boy isn’t and she says it in sort of like a jokey way

What is the Message?…

• That people are so addicted to technology and social media that they sometimes they might not live a good life and they probably need to have at least a little bit of balance

Now that i have analysed this cartoon do i still find this funny?…

• Yes i do because the joke still apply’s

# Win At The Fair

Win At the fair is a game where, well you have to win at the fair, first we got given a sheet to play the game, but the sheet wasn’t fair, It had way too high numbers,  a low entry fee of \$1 and it was a high chance to roll on the tiles with a lot of money to lose. Everybody had 10 go’s of getting an amount of money from the game at fair, here is the data.

The next time we created one it was the “creative” game at the fair, this game was the first Try of creating a game board that will work in order to make us money, here is some what my “creative” game board looked like and some data from 10 turns of rolling and getting on a tile that contains money.

The Game board after that, the 2nd Fair Game Board was supposed to be the updated version of the “creative” Fair Game Board, it was supposed to be the final game board, i put this game board into maths 300 and sadly i could not have the \$0.50 in front of the start sign, but here are the results i have had after the 2nd Fair Game Board.

I lost \$714.25 and i lost \$0.71 each game, I think i could improve by making the higher numbers down the bottom only and the lower numbers up the top, so that it is higher chance to roll a lower number. I have run out of time to test this 4 times or to create a new game board, sorry. But this was an activity that definitely  made me think.

# Digital Etiquette

What is Netiquette? Netiquette is kindness and manners shown online, For example not being mean online and not sending someone mean messages like “you suck,” instead sending people nice messages like “great job today.”

What is Flame Wars? Flame Wars are when People start arguing on the internet, for example somebody might say they don’t like Star Wars then some Star Wars fan might get mad and then start arguing.

What is a Internet Troll? An Internet Troll is someone who likes to look for flame wars, for example a little kid might love star wars and then internet troll might comment about star wars and say someone bad and then they might have a flame war.

When Tim says “once your message is out, it’s out” it means that things can stay on the internet forever and to be careful what you put on the internet.

Sometimes online somebody might have an anonymous name, so you might not know who they and sometimes they might say something mean because the person is not saying it to the other person’s face and they might not know each other or each other’s name’s.

If you are young it is great to get permission to post something on the internet because you might make the wrong decision and it can stay up there forever.

# THINK Online Acronym poster

What does THINK mean? In this case THINK is an acronym for when you are doing something like sending a message ore posting something on social media and how you should always be careful what you do or when you say something. True. what does true mean? True means don’t lie, so don’s lie about who you are and things like that. Helpful, What does helpful mean? Helpful means make sure it helps someone in a certain way, so for example there usually is no point of saying something if it doesn’t have a purpose or is helpful. Inspiring. What is inspiring? In this case inspiring means that usually when you post something you want to get it to inspire someone, for example maybe post a quote every now and again to inspire someone to keep on being happy. Necessary, What does necessary mean? In this case necessary means to do only the necessary actions, for example cyber bullying isn’t necessary, it’s mean and bad, so always think about what you say. Kind, What does kind mean? In this case kind means not to nice to people and never put someone down, for example if i cyber bullied someone that isn’t kind, but if i were to send someone a nice message, that is.

# Passion Project Description

In my Passion project I am going to doing a draw my life about how I got into video games and how they are one of my passions. I am going to be doing it on a whiteboard with whiteboard markers, whiteboard erasers and possibly some spray. I am going to do a voice over and maybe add some music and also either speed up the video or do picture by picture, something like that.

# Birke Baehr TED Talk

I think the main messages are that you should check where things come from before you eat them and to try and get farmers to stop put bad things into there plants and soil and stuff like that.

He got his message across to his audience by showing pictures, speaking loud and clear and saying powerful facts or questions like “would you rather pay the farmer or the hospital” and how our meat is not just pigs rolling around in the mud and cows grazing grass and other facts like these ones.

The technical support he used was a big screen and a remote to control the slides on the big screen.

Some good presentation techniques he used well were him speaking loud, using a bit of comedy and also using heaps of facts in his script.

# Richard Turere TED Talk

Richard Turere speaks at the TED2013 conference in Long Beach, Calif. With a simple invention, the Kenyan teen figured out a way to keep cows and their predators safe.

I think the main messages in this TED Talk is that you don’t need much to create a lot and that you can do anything if you put your mind to it.

He got his messages across to his audience by showing images of the trouble that the lions caused him, some were quite violent so that he could really give a powerful message. He also tried to use the easiest words to make it easier for the audience to understand what he was saying.

The Technical support he used was the big screen and the remote for the big screen to control the slides.

The presentation techniques he used to get across to his audience were the slides on the big screen, the violent images to get a powerful messages across to his audience and he sometimes smiled to get his audience to laugh.

# Thomas Suarez TED Talk

I think the main message in this is that any body has the power to make an app and put it on the app store, including teachers because they can use these things to there advantage to enhance the learning of students.

The messages got across to the audience by talking to them in a way that they can understand, like you would do in a meeting, you need to make everything clear, including the message/messages that you are trying to share.

The technical support he used was a ipad to across and to know what he was going t say or what points he was going to bring up in the TED Talk, a remote to slide between different slides on a big screen used to show the slides.

I think the good presentation techniques he used were the slideshow because he could show and tell what he was saying at the same time and the way he talked in a very calm and clear way.
