Passion Project

I am doing motorbike for my passion project term 3. I got heaps of my footage but I need a bit more. I have started my editing and I have progressed very well and I am nearly done. I have used lots of shots.

The jumps were covered in weeds of stuff so I got rid of them so I knew where I was going to land. In my film I am using slow motion for heaps of bits of footage.

I can’t wait to finish.


The topic I want to focus on is GFC. I really love footy and the Geelong cats is my favourite team so I really want to focus on the topic. We think we are going to get a private tour by one of the Geelong cats players. We are going to interview him.

I want to look at the stadiums the cats has had. They have had 4 stadiums, Church Hill, Argyle, Corio Oval and Kardinia park.

The other thing I want to look at is famous Geelong players like Carji Greeves, Gary Ablett and Joe Slater etc. And how the big the impact they have left on Geelong.

This has been really fun and I am very excited to be doing this amazing project. And I can’t wait to see my finished product.


Passion Project

I think I will do motorbike riding for my second passion project. I really enjoy motorbike riding and I have some jumps around my property. I might get a gopro or I might invite a friend over to film while I do the jumps.

The jumps are covered with grass and weeds so I will not film straight away. I’ve got a KTM 65 2 STROKE. I have been riding a motorbike for a long time. I just will ride around my property doing jumps and stuff. The shots I’m going to use are C.U, L..S and M.S.

I am looking forward to continuing with this.

Gauss Beats the teacher

We have focused on a maths activity called gauss beats the teacher. It’s when a dude is really smart and the teacher hates him and the teacher gives him a maths activity to keep him quiet an the teacher walks somewhere and walks back to the dude and he’s done. The activity was adding all the numbers 1-100 and see what it equals. My strategy was to 1-9 10-18 and so on to 90-99 and then finally add the 100.  Joe and I found out a pattern it goes up 81 like 45, 126, 207 etc. And the last digit of each number goes up 1 every time 45 126 207 etc. I used heaps of strategies like guess and check, solve a simpler problem and test all possible solutions.

We made shapes and drew them we tried to make them not to complicated and we found 2 solutions to figure how much blocks there were. I did [4×4]+[3×2]+3=25 My other way was [4×3]+[3×2]+7=25. We used BID MAS. Brackets, Indices, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction. We had a extension problem to find out how many evens there were and add them up. We found that there is 50 evens and so the answer is 2500 because it is half the 1-100 challenge.  So finished that as well.   I loved this problem and hope to do it again.

Triple R

Term 2 over! Nearly, It has gone so fast. I am so looking forward to holidays, I have really enjoyed term 2 like doing passion projects and ted talks. Even though I have had trouble with editing but I think it has been really fun I have enjoyed learning to edit. Passion project has fun because it was something new, I have never done it before and look forward to doing it next term. Ted talks has been fun because I have learnt so much when I was watching the former year sixers doing the ted talk I really loved it.

My 3 goals are for next term is

Do remember to charge my laptop every night

Get homework done in time

Work with people I don’t usually work with

I have really enjoyed this term and look forward next term.

Passion Project

I really starting to love doing my passion project. Even though I have done it is really been fun. I think my editing has been okay, because I am not an expert. The shots I have used are F.S [full shot] M.S [mid shot]. It is not much but I think it will do, I have also used some texts on Premier pro, I did not know how to do it before. And I also somehow changed the volume of different videos.

I am excited to show the class. When I got all my filming done and on top the editing stage, I had no idea what I was doing. I did not know how to manage Premier Pro. That was the biggest challenge of the year for me, but I think that I adapted from that challenge and overcame it. Even though I still need some help from an expert [josh]. The thing I am most happy about is becoming an okay editor. It has been fun learning about Premier Pro, now I can edit in this future year.

Win at the fair


Win at the fair is a game we have been focusing in project maths. Win at the fair is a game when you roll two dice and you move somewhere based on what number your rolled. When we started learning about win at the fair the price was to play $1. The money you could win was 20c 50c $1 $2 $3 $4 $5. This did not work out we lost more money then we made. So we made changes and modified the game board to see if this will be profitable. I think everyone’s game board made money, on maths 300 we could only change prices and the arrows leading to heaps different prices. But you couldn’t change the price to play the game it had to stay one dollar and you couldn’t make any rules, one of my rules was if you roll doubles you have to start again and pay again I thought that rule would really help making money for the school. We also had to make it fair so people would play the game and will be able to win money.

This is the most amount of money you can possible lose so this is the worst game board ever! I think anyone will play this game.

This is my first draft of a game board. I think this profited money I can’t really remember.

 This was my most successful game board. I think really deeply and thought can I make a board with good prices so people would play it. I was curious to see if it will work and I experimented it payed of. I played about 15 and the best average was like 45c and the most I lost was like about 60c. I asked a few people to see if my game board will be make money they said yes and that board is pretty good. They were right! It was a pretty good game board.

I loved focusing on win at the fair it was so much fun and I cant wait to look at my next problem for project maths. I loved these weeks of Win at the fair.

Passion Project

I have nearly done my passion project! I need an expert to help me with something [josh]. I am really having trouble with editing because I had never used premier pro and I missed the film school session. But I  think I have done well, I am really happy with all my footage I think it goes well with my film. I uploaded all my footage from my phone onto my phone and no troubles uploading.

My phone has collected not the best footage but I think it will do. I think I have got plenty of footage of me driving and I think my film will be pretty good.

I cannot wait to finish and show grade 6 my film. I really love making this film it is so much fun. I think everyone loves doing filming and the rest.

PE drop punt

In PE we have been continuing with the drop punt. We used Ipads to film us kicking, to be honest I could’ve done a bit better. Then we played a game of around the world, this guy connor was cheating all the way through because everyone got him out even though I was still in the game [I won]. This was one of my favourite games and we haven’t played it since year 3. I cannot wait until the next PE session.

Birke Bhear

Another lesson in inquiry and another ted talk. This time it was about this guy named Birke Bahear. He was talking buying organic food from local supermarkets or from local farmers. To be honest I really hated this TED talk because he didn’t engage me and I hated his idea.

His message was to stop buying food with bad chemicals that wasn’t treated. He was really passionate about his idea, so he was talking loud and proud, he didn’t look he was forced to talk about his idea. He was loving it.

He wanted to be an NFL player but he said that he wanted to be something that involves changing the way food is made and is transported a few hundreds of miles just to bring food to supermarkets. He also said that corn is in everything and corn has a bad chemical in it. He did use technical support to help get his point across including pictures and the thing I liked about his TED talk was he didn’t look behind at the screen. So he kept the audience engaged with eye contact. He also moved around the stage a bit so he didn’t stay at the one spot. He didn’t sprint across the stage and jump around or go down to the audience. He moved around a few meters.

I really disliked his TED talk but I loved his structure and his ways to engage the audience. I look forward to more TED talks. But I liked learning about food had heaps of chemicals.
