term one – goal setting.

My goal for term 1 is to focus on my spelling and make sure I am organised with my homework.

I want to achieve this goal because I have always wanted to get better at spelling but have never actually done anything about it. I try to be organized with my homework but it has never seemed to work out.

Three actions I will take to start to achieve this goal are…

  1. Make sure I always get my homework in on time
  2. Try to spell the word and then get it checked my peers or teacher.
  3. Make sure I don’t leave my homework till the last minute.

I think this goal is realistic for me because thorough hard work it is achievable.

I think it will take me approximately no longer than a term to achieve my goal.

Who will help me stay on the path to my goal? Hopefully my peers will help me along the way and my parents.

expo reflection !!

hey there,

yesterday, last night and this morning we shared our work with the year 5s,8s,7s and year 6 parents over the last two days.

I really enjoyed this experience to share our work with different year levels and different peoples parents. my personally highlight was showing my grandparents my ted because they hadn’t seen the storyclip, they were very impressed because they  were with me when my family went to Africa. i really liked the feed back that the year 5 gave and they seemed very excited about coming into year 6.

cheers ruby ::)

hey everyone,

on monday the whole of the year 6s are going to the zoo. we were asked to chose and make a short film and also research the animal. my animal is an elephant (Asian). here is some fun facts about elephants.

1. Asian elephants live in large blocks of forest near water sources and grasslands. They inhabit India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar (Burma), Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Bangladesh, and southern China

2. They eat lots of vegetation, including grasses and herbs, leaves, fruit, farm crops, and bark

3. The adult African bush elephant generally has no natural predators due to its great size, but their calves (especially the newborns) are defenceless to lion and crocodile attacks, and (rarely) to leopard and hyena attacks.

4. elephants can get burnt so they protect themselves with sand

5. Elephants are scared of bees.

one the shots I would to get of the elephant is one of it with drinking or with another elephant.

my PTC hopefully will go a little like this: me standing next to the fence with the elephant behind me and me introducing the film.

thanks guys, hope you learnt something.

cheers ruby :))

Information from the flight led to the discovery of solar (from the sun) and cosmic radiation.

Laika had been a stray dog living in the streets of Moscow. She underwent training with two other dogs. She was then chosen as the dog to go up in the Soviet spacecraft Sputnik 2. It was launched into outer space on November 3, 1957.
